When extraction gets a field wrong
What to check when an uploaded contract came back with the wrong date or cost, and how to stop it mattering.
Reading a contract is a judgement call, and a document can be ambiguous, scanned badly, or phrase its dates in a way that reads two ways. Resubly is built so a wrong extraction is a nuisance rather than a missed renewal.
Nothing goes live unreviewed
Extracted values wait in the review queue until you approve them. If the numbers look wrong, correct them there before approving. See review extracted contract details.
If it is already a live contract
- Open the subscription from the subscriptions list.
- Correct the renewal date and the cancel notice period first. Those two decide your alert timing, so they matter most.
- Save. The alert countdown recalculates against the corrected dates straight away.
The two fields worth double-checking
- Renewal date. Some contracts state a term length and a start date rather than a renewal date outright.
- Cancel notice period. Often buried in a clause well away from the dates, and sometimes expressed in months rather than days.
Still wrong
Email hello@resubly.com with the contract and what came back. Extraction mistakes on real documents are the most useful thing you can send us.
