How renewal alerts work
Alerts count down to your cancellation deadline rather than the renewal date: 30, 14, 7, 3, 1, and 0 days, plus one after it passes.
Resubly alerts against the notice deadline, which is the renewal date minus the notice period. Counting down to the renewal date would be too late by definition, because the deadline to cancel arrives first.
The schedule
Resubly checks every contract once a day and sends an alert at each of these points before the notice deadline:
- 30 days before, then 14, 7, 3, and 1 day before.
- On the deadline itself.
- Once more after it has passed, so a missed deadline is stated plainly rather than going quiet.
Each of those points sends at most once per contract, so you get a countdown rather than a daily nag. If a check is ever missed, the next one covers it instead of skipping the step.
Who gets the alert
- The contract subscription owner, always.
- Your organization owners as well, if you have set recipients to owner plus organization owners.
- Any extra addresses you have configured, such as a finance@ group alias. These always receive alerts.
Daily or weekly
On the default daily setting, alerts arrive as each milestone is reached. Switch to the weekly digest and you get one summary of everything upcoming instead, sent on a Monday, with no daily messages in between. Both are set in notification settings.
What stops an alert
- Renewal reminders switched off in your notification settings.
- The contract is not active, or is locked by the Free plan limit.
- No renewal date is set, so there is nothing to count down to.
