Track renewals on the pipeline

The renewals page answers a different question from the dashboard. The dashboard tells you what needs attention. The renewals page tracks the work of actually renewing, from first decision to signature.

Two views

• Pipeline. A board of four columns you drag cards between. Best for working through renewals.
• Timeline. The same renewals laid out by date. Best for seeing what is coming and when.

Your choice is remembered, so the page opens the way you left it.

The four stages

• Needs decision. The renewal has not been started yet.
• In progress. You are gathering or revising the quote.
• Awaiting approval. With finance for sign-off.
• Ready to sign. Approved, so the contract can be finalised.

Completed renewals leave the board. Finishing one creates a fresh contract for the new term, at the start of the pipeline again.

Why a drag sometimes does not stick

Dragging a card is a request to move the renewal forward, not a direct edit, so Resubly checks the move is legal first. Three things can happen:

• It moves. Nothing else was needed.
• The workflow opens. The next stage needs something concrete, such as a quote value or a signed document, so Resubly takes you to that step rather than guessing.
• The card snaps back. The move would skip a required stage, and you are told why.
